Geneva Small Fry Preschool

Geneva Small Fry Nursery is state licensed and employs a staff who must meet the requirements of the licensing agency.

The student-teacher ratio is 8:1 in Pre-K and 6:1 in the younger class.  The children will be under adult supervision at all times.

Staff

Geneva Small Fry Nursery maintains the policy of other preschools and requires tuition fees on a regular monthly basis, not excepting vacation periods during the academic year.

Geneva Small Fry Nursery reserves the privilege of determining if the child is physically and emotionally ready for the type of group experience offered by the school.  An enrolled child who is not adjusting to the activities may be asked to withdraw for the time being.

Children’s clothing should be able to withstand good, active, creative play!  All coats, hats, and sweaters should be labeled with child’s name.  No sandals, flip-flops, or cowboy boots please.  Tennis shoes are best.

OUTDOOR:

Encourage climbing, running, pedaling, balancing, swinging, and sandbox play.

INDOOR:

Creative play, creative art, puzzles, books, clay, and manipulative play.

MUSIC:

Rhythm, songs, movement, and musical games.

GAMES:

Guessing, visual, imitating, and identification.

DRAMATIC PLAY:

Housekeeping area, costume box, construction blocks, and puppets.

LEARNING ABOUT OUR WORLD:

Nature, walks, planting, field trips, experiments, cooking, and visits from community helpers.

TOGETHER TIMES:

Helper’s Chart, sharing time, snack time, and circle time.

MATH:

Number identification, counting, sizes, weight, and grouping in sets.

 

READING READINESS:

Identification of letters and their sounds, stories, alphabet games, and sequencing.

*Pre-K students will have assessment of readiness skills in the spring and Parent Conference.

Activities

Admission Policies

AGES:           2 years, 9 months through 6 years.

HOURS:        9:00 AM to 12:00 Noon

                       Check in time does not begin until 8:50 AM and pick-up time is 12 noon.

DATES:         Start the first week of September and end the Friday before Memorial Day.

HOLIDAYS:    We follow the Modesto City School’s Calendar.  You will be notified of the specific dates through our monthly newsletter.  (Click here to view Modesto City School’s Calendar.)

FEES:            There is a $50.00 non-refundable enrollment fee (this includes insurance) .  A child does not go on the enrollment until this fee is paid.

TUITION:    Two mornings a week (attended by 3 and 4 year olds) is $100.00 per month.  Three mornings per week (attended by 4 and 5 year olds) is $150.00 per month. 

Payable:  The first monthly fee is due when the child starts school.  The same amount is to be paid within the first 10 days of each month during the school year.  If payment is delinquent, there is a penalty fee of 1/4 of the month’s tuition.  The child’s place may be forfeited if tuition is delinquent for 1 month.

HEALTH:      All inoculations must be current and noted by the doctor on health form.

2. If the child is to be enrolled, there is a non-refundable fee of $50.00.

3. Emergency, physician’s report, and family history forms must be completed and returned to the school on Orientation Day.

About Geneva Small Fry Preschool

We are a non-denominational Christian Nursery —preschool established in 1969 in Modesto, California.  The purpose of Geneva Small Fry Nursery is to provide the preschool child with the opportunity to learn social relationships, to improve skill with manual dexterity, to develop language skills, and to provide a transition between home and school in a Christian atmosphere.

Our teachers have the freedom to instruct the children using the Bible as God’s guide to teach the love of God and love of neighbor.  Children are taught to pray before their meals.
